Answers before you call.
Straight answers from Southwest Florida pool owners' most common questions.
What is included in weekly pool service?+
Cleaning, brushing, skimming, basket service, water testing and balancing, filter observation, and routine system checks — with a report after each visit.
Do you provide all pool chemicals?+
Standard maintenance chemicals are included in weekly service. Specialty treatments (recovery, stain, sequestrants) are quoted separately.
Can you recover a severely green pool?+
Yes. Green-to-clean recovery is a structured process; timelines vary based on volume, equipment, and current condition.
How long does green-to-clean service take?+
Most recoveries take 3–7 days. Severe cases with equipment or filtration issues can take longer.
Do you work on saltwater pools?+
Yes — saltwater, traditional chlorine, and mineral-supplemented pools.
What causes recurring algae?+
Common causes include insufficient sanitizer, poor circulation, filter issues, phosphates, and heavy environmental load. We diagnose the root cause during your assessment.
Can you remove copper or iron stains?+
We evaluate stains, identify the source, and recommend a targeted treatment plan. Results depend on stain type and surface.
What is a solar-powered copper ionizer?+
A floating device that uses solar energy to release controlled copper ions, providing supplemental algae-management support.
Does a copper ionizer replace chlorine?+
No. It supplements — not replaces — a proper sanitizer residual.
Can copper ionization be used with a salt system?+
Yes, when configured and monitored appropriately.
How is copper concentration monitored?+
Through routine water testing during service visits.
Will copper stain my pool?+
Copper concentration must be managed carefully. That's why ionization is used as a supplement within a monitored program.
Which areas do you serve?+
Charlotte and Sarasota Counties. Contact us to confirm route availability.
How much does weekly pool service cost?+
Starting around $150/month, adjusted for pool size, condition, enclosure, equipment, and location.
Do you service vacation rentals and seasonal residences?+
Yes — with communication and reporting designed for absent owners and property managers.
How do I request an estimate?+

Discover the SmartPool Advantage
A more natural way to purify your pool.
We not only provide an effective and more natural way to purify your swimming pool — our line of solar-powered copper ionizers also provides several holistic benefits, including:
Reduced Chlorine Use50–80% less chlorine on average.Learn moreShow less
Our service significantly reduces the amount of chlorine needed — on average between 50% and up to 80%. Fewer chemicals in your pool means a more natural swimming experience for everyone… and your dog.
Balanced pH LevelsSteadier chemistry between visits.Learn moreShow less
Lower chemical load means pH and alkalinity drift less, so your water stays in range longer and needs fewer corrective doses each week.
Algae & Bacteria ControlContinuous supplemental protection.Learn moreShow less
Copper ions work around the clock alongside your sanitizer to suppress algae growth and bacteria, especially during hot, high-load Florida months.
Removal of By-Products (DBP)Fewer chloramines and that pool smell.Learn moreShow less
Lower chlorine demand means fewer disinfection by-products such as chloramines — the compounds responsible for harsh odors and heavy chemical smell.
Reduced Skin & Eye IrritationNo more red eyes or itchy skin.Learn moreShow less
Gentler water is easier on swimmers. Families with children and sensitive skin typically notice the difference within the first few weeks.
Residual EffectKeeps working between service visits.Learn moreShow less
Unlike chlorine, copper ions do not burn off in sunlight. They stay active in the water column, providing ongoing support day after day.
Environmental ImpactSolar powered, chemical reducing.Learn moreShow less
The ionizer runs entirely on sunlight — no cords, no batteries, no plumbing changes — and cuts the volume of chemicals manufactured, shipped, and poured into your pool.
Antimicrobial PropertiesCopper is naturally antimicrobial.Learn moreShow less
Copper has been used to keep water clean for centuries. It adds a second, non-chlorine layer of protection to your sanitation program.
Water Softener & ClarifierSofter, clearer, better-feeling water.Learn moreShow less
Owners commonly report silkier water and improved clarity — water that looks and feels closer to a natural spring than a chemical bath.
Animal SafeSafe for pets that swim and drink.Learn moreShow less
In a properly maintained and monitored pool, copper levels stay well within safe limits for dogs and other animals that swim or drink from the pool.
Copper ionization supplements — it does not replace — a properly maintained sanitation, circulation, and filtration program. Results vary by pool.
